Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging (SARCOA)
The Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging (SARCOA) Area Agency serves the Seniors of the seven counties of southeast Alabama. On October 2nd and 3rd of 2009, SARCOA organized their 2nd annual 50+ expo at Dothan’s National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds to generate interest to the services and facilities that are provided to aging adults in the Wiregrass Area.
SARCOA is one of thirteen Area Agencies on Aging in the state of Alabama operating under the framework of the Older Americans Act. Seniors located within the counties of Houston, Geneva, Dale, Barbour, Covington and Coffee Counties can utilize these services on a weekly basis at thier new facility located at 1075 South Brannon Stand Road, in Dothan, Alabama.

The Wiregrass Senior Resource Center was built and completed in 2009 to serve as a convenient one stop location to assist seniors and/or their caregivers. Thus, enabling them to address the issues and care needs that can help them live a comfortable and independent lifestyle.
